When I First Spotted This Seat, I Thought That
It
Was A Typical 1909 Shibe Park "Double Ribbon"
Style,
But With Its Ornate Ironwork Broken Or
Removed From The Area Inside The Armrests.
But, Upon Further Inspection ....
I Quickly Learned That This Was NOT The Case!
There Are NO Traces Of Removed Metal In Either
Armrest Area, Nor Welding Marks, File Marks,
Traces Of Metal, etc. ..... Nada!
The Paint On Both Sides Of The Armrest
Frames Is Exactly The Same.
There
Is No Evidence Of Repainting To Conceal
Welding And/Or File Marks Is Present.
The Frames On
This Seat Are Thicker & More
Rounded Than
The Known 1909 Model Shibe Park Seats.
The Floor Mounts On This Seat Are Also
Shaped Differently Than The Known Model 1909 Seats ....
They
Are Longer And More Squarer in Shape.
The
Angle Of The Back Of This Seat Is Different Than
The 1909 Model Seats.
This
Seat Is MUCH Heavier Than
The 1909 Model Chairs, Too.
Otherwise Everything Else On This Seat IS 100% Correct
....
From The Coats Of Paint Applied
In The Proper Order,
To The Seat Number Placement, Size, Font & Color, too.
This Chair Is Quite Possibly The
ONLY Known
Survivor Of This
Model Shibe Park/Connie
Mack
Stadium Seat
In Existance.
